AUT Society of Robotics (SAR) founded on the fundamental principles of education and collaboration as a means to pursue the complex issues of robotics. The core of SAR is based on AUT Robotics Center (ARC) students and provides enormous possibilities in terms of multi-centric studies, database collection, fellowship training.

SAR consist of research groups in different aspect of robotic technology: Humanoid robot, Medical robotic, Ballbot robot, social robotics and machine vison. The other SAR activities is to facilitate the links between the robotics industry and the research in new fields of Robots.
